There is hot, then there is hotter than hot...

So if you have been watching the weather lately, you will have noticed it's quite hot in central Canada right now, specifically Kenora, Ontario.  There is hot, then there is hotter than hot...  One million celcius yesterday, or so it felt like it when I was out jogging, all a part of my preparation for the Yukon Trail Marathon next month.  In my last blog I briefly outlined a couple of rules of the run.  Rule 12 gives you some ideas on what to do if you run into a bear while on the trails.  "Use extreme caution"... No kidding!  Now I'm getting a feeling we are not talking whimpy black bears like the ones we have here in northwestern Ontario.  They are most likely talking Grizzleys.  The real deal when it comes to the bear family.  They recommend a wide detour around the animal or retreat to the nearest trail station.  While jogging last night I actually ran past a black bear which had come out of the bush to cool off in a nearby lake.  This guy wanted nothing to do with anyone, I'm not so sure that will be the case in the mountains where Grizzleys dictate the rules... we march on.... or should I say we jog on...
