Winter Home Buying

Winter may not be high season for home sales but it may be a good time for you to house shop.  Less Competition, More Leverage - As some sellers will wait to list their home until spring, there may be fewer homes on the market - but there are also fewer buyers during the winter months.  This may mean sellers are more willing to accommodate potential buyers.  Viewing homes in winter also allows you to see how the home holds up to the weather.  Is there frost inside the windows?  Do you feel cold while walking through the home?  Drafts?  Some lenders even waive fees during the off-season to encourage borrowers to use their services - check around.
