Protect your home while you're away

Our homes are our biggest investment.  It's no wonder that we get nervous about leaving the house empty when we go on vacation.  Take some steps to ensure your home stays secure while you are away.  Rather than just having lights on timers, put your television on a timer too.  A glowing TV set will add to the illusion that someone is at home.  Ask your neighbor or hire a service to keep your walkways clear of leaves and snow and to cut your lawn in the summer months.  Snowy walkways with no footsteps and overgrown lawns are clues to an empty house.  Another telltale sign that no one is home is accumulation.  Don't just suspend your mail, but have a neighbor pick up flyers too.  A good security system is another option.  Many security dealers will conduct home evaluations. This is the time when many are going on a relaxing get a way.  We do not want to have to come home early or find disaster when we do arrive home.  Take every precaution you can to protect your home,  and feel that amazing feeling when you walk in your front door  and  say what we have all said I'm sure.  "HOME SWEET HOME"
