Time to Get Gardening!

A prized garden in the spring can bring a smile to any face.  The colorful plants provide vibrant color throughout spring and summer but when you're planning a garden be careful to consider the changing seasons.  While it would be nice if tulips bloomed throughout the summer, winter and fall, that's not the reality.  So try to choose at least a few winter plants to offset the annuals which only bloom when it's warmer. Dwarf conifers can fill this role as they provide green year round.  Plants that look pretty during the summer and also add more than dull brown twigs in the winter are never ending givers to a garden.  Variegated Red Twig Dogwood for example has red bark that adds warmth even in the winter.  Decorative objects like gazebos, benches and ornamental pathways can also aid in making a yard into an all-seasons wonderland.
