Property taxes are paid yearly for each property or manufactured home you own or lease. You pay your property taxes to the office that sent you your tax notice.
The HomeOwner Grant reduces the amount of annual property tax you pay for your principal residence.
You must pay or defer your property taxes in full by the due date - eg. July 2nd for BC Rural Property -or as indicated on your tax notice to avoid late payment penalties. If you are unable to pay your taxes, in full by the due date still claim the, Home Owner Grant, (if you qualify) to reduce the amount of tax you owe.
