Have you seen TLC's "Extreme Couponing"? My Mom, who lives in Goderich, has been "couponing" for the last few months, and talks about it all the time!
On a recent visit to Goderich, she showed me what all the fuss is about! My Mom has been at this only a couple of months, and has already gathered hundreds of coupons from various flyers, tear pads in stores, and coupons printed from the internet. She also has a nice little stock pile started in her basement where she stores bulk items she buys when there's a great deal on! Woulnd't it be great to be able to go shopping in your own house when you run out of something, rather than going to the store and paying full price?!?
As you may have guessed, the idea of all of theses savings got me pretty excited, and over the last month, I have been gathering my own collection of coupons. I have created a binder in which I can easily sort and store my coupons, and now diligently check my flyers every week for coupons and great sales. It may seem like "couponing" is a lot of work, but if you're organized, it really can be very simple.
In my next few posts, I'll share with you some of the fantastic Canadian resources I have found online for finding coupons and savings, as well as local deals I find here in Oxford County. I'll also tell you which papers have coupons, and when to look for them! In my next post, I'll show you the savings from my first couponing shopping trip!
