Eligibility is NOT just actual first time buyers ~ you may qualify again after a number of years...ask for details.
  • Those interested in refurbishing older homes or commercial property may be eligible for restoration grants, or Heritage Tax Concessions, if their property is eligible and falls within the Heritage Commercial District.
  • Those interested in recreational, land investment or Waterfront living have different things to consider, such as Greenspace or Conservation area restrictions, Waterfront Tax premiums, Building Permit or Severance restrictions,
  • Condo or Lifestyle Residence Buyers should consider the Rules and Regs of Condo Corporations, what is included in Common Area costs, if it is likely that a building will have to dig into the Condo Reserve for capital expenditures/upgrades (based on its construction values).
  • Investors may like to understand the demographics of this growing lakeside community, on the Via Rail track and slated to be on the GO Train route in the coming years, or the value of buying now while interest rates are so very low.

I am proud to say I am a Board of Director of Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce. This long time organization has a capable networking group of successful entrepreneurs and the Business Community, and champions local business causes as well as lobbies at the government level to ensure local needs are being heard.

I have been a hands-on builder, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and I also, along with many of the agents from our office, donate $100 from every one of my sales to Habitat for Humanity to help others towards helping others towards the goal of home ownership.

I have been a member and supporter of varous local-centric event groups, including the Shop Locally Committee. This group was organized to create awarness and encourage residents to frequent and support the local shops, services, organizations and events in Northumberland County. Shopping locally feeds so many other aspects of life in our county ~  encouraging businesses to remain available to us which also retains a thriving community.  Quality of life is very much helped along by the support of local businesses of our sports and entertainment events. Local suppliers of goods and services also help  to create local jobs.  Supporting a vibrant shops, services and entertainment sector directly relates not just on an intangible level to the opportunitites in the community but to the overall real estate value of the area.

I have been involved in various fundraising and volunteer organizations including the Shop Locally Campaign, The Oak Ridges Morraine Association, The Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxilliary, The Art in Public Spaces Committee, and have donated time for various public events to help raise funds or to promote local or international causes, such as Amnesty International and The Relay For Life Cancer Research Fundraiser. As well, I am a member of Lake Ontario Waterkeeper's organization as I feel strongly about protecting the environment, especially the water table of this large body of water of Lake Ontario that our local community surrounds and thrives on.

I feel confident with the description of being your local expert, having been born and raised in Cobourg where I have attended all my school years on through to college in Durham. I spent ten years honing marketing and client service skills, managing advertising campaigns and developing strategic marketing plans in the busy agency arenas of Toronto and New York.

I have travelled extensively, enjoying the diversity of people and cultures encountered. These invaluable experiences lead to my decision that the beauty and lifestyle of this area was hard to match. I sold my house in NY State and returned to Cobourg where I became a volunteer with many local organizations and worked on contract as the Downtown Business Improvement Area Officer of Marketing and Events. I very much champion the idea of supporting local shops and services to help maintain a thriving community. I also studied Fine Art at R.I.T. before moving back, and continue in my spare time when I can to grow my interest and talent in artistic pursuits. I enjoy the wealth of talent in this community and the avenues and venues and support for the art, music and writers that abound here. It is truly a special locale.

Encouraged by two brothers who had long standing careers in Real Estate, I realized my background and interests and desire to help people would be a good fit to pursue a career in real estate. I studied the two year program at Orea Real Estate College, earning my License and designation as a Realtor under OREA and CREA.  I am proud to be a designated REALTOR, love people, architecture and landscaping. As well, I devour all trade-related articles from all resources possible to stay current on trends in Architecture, Building & Development, Home Decor, and Investment in Real Estate.
