I was out late one night this week presenting an offer on my listing. As we discussed the offer and then went through 3 counters with the buyers, it reminded me of the good old days of selling real estate in Edmonton. Many of my current clients do not live in the Okanagan but they own recreation property here. When a buyer comes to the Okanagan to buy a property, often the deal is done by fax or email after they have left the valley. I really miss sitting with my clients in person, going over the offer, strategizing and hopefully coming to an accepted offer. During the time we are waiting for the buyer's response, very good conversations take place. I have a chance to talk with my clients about their plans, their jobs and families, the future and really strengthen my bond with them.
I wish I could do every deal this way! This is my favourite part of selling real estate, the personal connection with my clients.
