Winter is the time we all seem to hibernate. Here in Kamloops there have been sneek peeks of spring so we all know it is coming. The question is when? Even though its winter, it does not mean that home sales stop, in fact this is the time when you are more likely to get a serious buyer, why else would they be looking for a home at this time of the year? With that being said it is important to have your home as show ready as possible even during this time of the year.
Here are some quick hints to help sell your home:
Have your sidewalks cleared of snow and ice and if you have shrubs that have over taken your walkway trim them.
Turn on all of your lights; on dark days it will make your house seem warmer and brighter.
If you know that you have a showing coming up in a day or two try to avoid cooking any flavourful foods that may cling to the air.
On warm days open your windows for a couple of minutes to recirculate the air, it will add a freshness to your home.
Turn on that gas fireplace in the living room, open the curtains, and blinds, and fluff up the pillows on the couch. If you have a nice throw, place it neatly on the couch or chair. Some people place a favorite hard cover book opened on the coffe table with a book mark to show that it is a comfortable area to relax.
Lastly, make all of your rooms defined, don't let winter make them a storage area.
Soon I will be introducing video blogs of the Kamloops and area so check back often.
