In all of my work with my chosen cause, if you want to call it that, with the Woodstock Navy Vets I have certainly come to realize how important volunteers are to non-profit organizations and charities. Without them, things simply will not and, in most cases, cannot get accomplished. The result is that the mission of the
organization isn't accomplished. For the Woodstock Navy Vets, the mission of becoming a pillar of excellence within the Woodstock community both on and off the ice would be in serious doubt if not for all of our great volunteers.
While I love my club and the game of hockey in generally, I will be the first to admit that there are significantly more important causes out there that need to be supported. For this reason, I am very glad to see that there is going to be an Annual Volunteer Recruitment Fair in Woodstock. The first one, on February 22nd, is going to be taking place at the Cowan Park Recreation Facility between 1:00pm and 4:00pm.
I encourage anyone that is interested in being a larger part of the City of Woodstock Community through helping others to take a trip to Cowan Park on February 22nd!
