Woodall Baseball and Recreation Complex

A NEW ERA OF SPORTS AND RECREATION MAY BE ON THE HORIZON IN WOODSTOCK

The following expenditures paint the financial picture for the planned development...

Phased Development:

1a:  The construction of an initial 3 Baseball Diamonds

1b:  The addition of 2 Additional Diamonds

1c:  The construction of The Swimming pool

2a:  Necessary Road Works to supplement the complex

2b:  The planned Twin Pad Arena

The planned development looks to be a promising one for the Woodstock community but some questions that can be asked include:

  • Is this the best use of city land?
  • Why baseball, hockey and swimming rather than other, possibly more prominant sports?
  • Why here?  Is there another location that may better suite a recreational facility?

My feelings about the planned development do not necessarily coincide with the questions above but I feel that they are questions that should be considered by all.  Either to reinforce the cities decision or to provide an alternative outlook on the situation.

It's all about the Community

The City of Woodstock is now asking interested parties to way in on the planned development by asking Woodstonians to submit their thoughts on the Woodall Baseball and Recreational Complex.  Comments should be made to either Brian Connors the Director of Parks and Recreation at by emailing bconnors@city.woodstock.on.ca or Harold De Haan the City Engineer by sending your thoughts to hdehaan@city.woodstock.on.ca.
