Heritage Park is one of my personal favourite places in Calgary. When my kids were small I always purchased a seasons pass as this is a wonderful outdoor playground for kids. Where else can you travel back in time to the early 1900's. The park has a wonderful amusement park, complete with an antique ferris wheel, carousel, & caterpillar ride. You can set sail on the Glenmore Reservoir on the SS Moyie and enjoy an old fashion paddle wheel cruise. The Bakery has delicious pastries to purchase and every trip must include a stop at the Old Fashioned Candy Store. If you are an early riser breakfast can be found at the Gund Barn.
In the Autumn I love to visit Heritage park to play in the leaves. Halloween is a fun time to visit since the Prince house is one of the most famous Haunted Houses in Calgary. The park comes alive with spooky fun. At Christmas you can enjoy the 12 Days of Christmas complete with Santa and an old fashioned store for kids to buy their parents presents. No adults allowed.
