Brandon home sales remain very strong in June 

Home sales reported through the MLS® System of the Brandon Real Estate Board numbered 161 units in June 2012, up 18 per cent from June 2011. This marks the second best month of June on record.

 A total of 845 home traded hands in the first half of the year. This was up 36 per cent from levels reported over the same time last year. It is also the best start to any year on record, standing 12 per cent above the previous record set in 2008.

The average price of homes sold in June 2012 was $207,391, up five per cent from a year earlier.

The dollar value of all home sales in June was $33.4 million, up 24 per cent from levels recorded a year earlier. The total value of all properties sold in June 2012 was $36.2 million, an increase of 23 per cent from June 2011.

 New residential listings numbered 214 units in June 2012, increasing nine per cent from the previous June. There were 829 active residential listings on the Board’s MLS® System at the end of June, down eight per cent from levels reported in June 2011.

 There were 5.1 months of inventory at the end of June 2012 this was down from 6.6 months a year earlier.The number of months of inventory is the number of months it would take to sell current inventories at the current rate of sales activity .
