The Village of Jansen is located in the RM of Prairie Rose #309 in south central Saskatchewan, along the TransCanada Yellowhead Highway #16, approximately 142 kms east of Saskatoon and 70 kms southeast of Humboldt.
Main industry in the area are agriculture and mining. Pound-Maker Agventures Ltd is located 10 miles North - West of Jansen and PotashCorp, Lanigan Division is located 36km west of Jansen, and employs over 350 employees with the many living in the area. Jansen is currently in a prime location for expansion and growth as the proposed BHP Billiton mine is exploring and developing in the area.
Jansen has a post office, grocery, hotel/bar, bank, bowling alley, library, campgrounds and a desire to grow. Community spirit is strong with many annual events hosted such as Poker Derby, The Famous Kabbage Kup, R.M. of Prairie Rose Annual Rate Payers Supper Meeting, Quill LakeCredit Union Jansen-Esk Branch, Dinner Theatre, Cabbage Roll / Perogie Supper, CanadaDay Celebrations, and Fall Supper.
