Indian Head is a mid-sized prairie town approxmiately 69 km east of Regina.  The town is known for it's federally-operated Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration (PFRA) experimental farm and tree nursery that produces seedlings for shelter belts.

The first settlers moved into the district in 1882, a few months ahead of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The farming operations were so huge and out of the ordinary that, on many occasions, the passenger trains would stop and let the passengers watch the harvesting operation become the area's first tourist attraction.   The Bell Farm was one of the biggest farms and today the Bell Barn has become a local attraction. The 20 meter, round barn was reconstructed in July 2010 by the Bell Barn Society.

Indian Head is home to the Saskatchewan Rural Sports Hall of Fame and Museum established in 1992 which commemorates athletes from rural Saskatchewan who achieved fame in the big leagues.
