Games and Practice Schedule

The program schedule will be posted on our website as soon as it is available. Check the division sections of our site after mid-September.
We understand that you need to plan your family's schedule. You may use last year's program schedule as a guideline as we try to maintain consistency from year to year. However, you must be aware that this is subject to change. Program schedules are available on the homepage for each division.
Mini Mite and Mite Registration
Players who will be 4, 5 or 6 years of age by December 31st
UMHA offers both a Mini Mite and a Mite program. The Mini Mite program is designed specifically for 4 and 5 year olds who are brand new to hockey and, in many cases, to skating as well. The Mite program is designed specifically for 5 year olds who may have played some hockey or at a minimum can skate and for 6 year olds.
During registration, you will be offered only the option to register in the Mite/Hockey School. During evaluations in late September, the UMHA will evaluate your child to make sure he/she is placed in the division that will provide them the right development program for their level of experience.
New Players Who are 9 Years of Age or Older
To register a player who has never registered with a minor hockey association in Canada and who is 9 years of age or older, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information about the player you wish to register:
- First and last name
- Date of birth
- Physical address
- Email address
The registrar will send you a return email with information on how to register within 7 (seven) business days.
Full-Time Goalie Position
The following is an excerpt from Section 2.3 of the UMHA Coach and Convener Manual:
“Beginning in the Peewee division, players may choose to become full-time goalies. In divisions where there are players who only want to play goal, the convener shall ensure that these players are equally distributed among the teams. If there are more goalies than teams, the position must be shared equitably on as many teams as necessary to accommodate all goalies.
“A full-time goalie position cannot be guaranteed as it is dependant on the number of players who want to play in net in a division in any given year. The division convener will allocate goalies on as equitable a basis as possible among teams in the division.”

Respect in Sport Parent Program—NEW for 2014-2015
May 19, 2014
Starting in the 2014-2015 hockey season, the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) requires that at least one parent or guardian of each minor hockey player (18 years and under) registered in the OMHA complete the online Respect in Sport Parent Education Program.
“The Respect in Sport program is an online certification program designed to protect our youth as well as enhance the OMHA's mandate of providing a safe and fun environment for all participants. It is Canada's leading online bullying, abuse, harassment, and neglect prevention program for parents, coaches, and community leaders.”—OMHA
Currently, the Respect in Sport Activity Leader program is a condition of participation for all team officials (bench staff), on-ice volunteers, and on-ice referees. In an ongoing effort to foster a safe and enjoyable environment for our athletes participating in this great game, the OMHA is implementing a plan to ensure the OMHA is a complete respect integrated organization. Before a player can participate in the 2014-2015 season, a parent or guardian of that player must complete the online Respect in Sport Parent program.
Some quick facts:
- 1-hour online course
- Cost is $12.00
- One time only
- Accessed through the OMHA website: www.omha.net
- Enter your child's name when completing the course!
Please note that if a parent/guardian has completed the Respect in Sport Activity Leader program, the Respect in Sport Parent program is different and still needs to be completed.
Thank you for your commitment to the safety, enjoyment, and success of your child in the UMHA and for all OMHA participants.
