Welcome to my Website

As a dedicated CENTURY 21® Real Estate professional, I will be  providing you with the highest quality service possible. My personal knowledge of the local Real Estate market and my many  years of experience as a real estate sales representative will enable me to serve you wether buying or selling.. The CENTURY 21 brand is the most recognized name in Real Estate today and that is the Company I work for.

 I enjoy working with first time buyers, assisting you in finding your home, in a neighbourhood that is right for you. Then by staying in touch, finding you your second home  and selling the first one. I can assist investors buying properties to rent out or to fix up and resell.   Sellers if you are interested in selling a property, I have the expertise to help you get the fastest sale possible and at the best price. Have kept up to date with numerous other courses in the Real Estate industry  


I specialize in helping first time buyers get into the real estate market.

For those downsizing perhaps to a condominium, I make the transition as easy as possible marketing the property to be sold and finding the right place to downsize into.

For investors I search out properties  buy which can easily be rented.

For the handy man I find a property which can be fixed up and resold.

For those families being relocated, transferred to our great city, I take time to explain the different areas of the city and show houses in the desired price range till the right one is found. 

Community Involvement

I try to keep the neighbourhood in which I live look its best by always picking up paper,  bottles, cans and other items that people just seem to discard on my lawn, or on my neighbours lawn or on the street.

I attend a church and help by visiting some of its members on a regular basis, especially if they can not get out much, due to health reasons. Also get together with quite a few members who are good friends for Christmas and New Years parties.


Personal Interests

I have many many interest that I try to fit into my life.

Here are some of them:


Reading novels and discussing them with the book club to which I belong

Walking the dog

Listening to music and going to concerts

Having a coffee or tea with friends

Understanding Market Conditions

The real estate market is always changing. It helps to understand how market conditions can effect your position as a seller. 

Dorothy can provide you with current real estate market conditions and explain their impact.

Market Conditions Characteristics Implications
Buyer's Market:
The supply of homes on the market exceeds demand.

High inventory of homes: Few buyers compared to availability. Homes on the market longer. Prices tend to drop in this type of market

Your home may take longer to sell. Less negotiating leverage in terms of selling price.
Seller's Market:
The number of buyers wanting homes exceeds the supply or number of homes on the market.

Smaller inventory of homes. Many buyers. Homes sell quickly. Prices usually increase.

May have more negotiating leverage and obtain a higher selling price for your property.
Balanced Market:
The number of homes on the market is equal to the demand or number of buyers.

Demand equals supply. Homes sell within an acceptable time period. Prices generally stable.

More relaxed atmosphere. Buyers have a reasonable number of homes to choose from.

Personal Background

I was born in the Netherlands.

At the age of 10, I and  my family moved to Red Deer, Alberta, Canada.

After 5 years in Alberta, we moved again, this time to Trenton, Ontario, Canada. 

Three years later I left home to go to college in Grand Rapids Michigan, where I studied and obtained my Bachelor of Science degree, and began my career as a Med Tech. 

Seven years later moved with husband John Kralt to London Ontario. There I worked at my career  as a lab tech in the veterns hopital.

The next move was to Ottawa Ontario, where my husband pursued his career as a demographer in the federal government and I became a licenced real estate representative.

In this fair city we raised our two sons and continue to enjoy our life in Ottawa with friends and children surrounding us.

The children are now grown up but we are close knit and visit back and forth whenever we can


Professional Background

My education began in the Netherlands and continued in Canada the country to which my family immigrated  in 1955. After high school I was off to Grand Rapids Michigan in the USA, to attend Calvin College. Here I received my Bachelor of Science degree. I joined the labour force as a Medical Technologist (lab tech). This career I pursued for the next 6 years. By now I had married and  moved back to Canada. In the early 1970s my husband John Kralt  and I moved to Ottawa ON. where my husband got a job with the federal government and I stayed home with our young children. In 1980 I went back to work, this time as a Real Estate Sales Representative, and the rest as they say is history. I am still enjoying this career and have seen it all, high and low interest rates, property price increases and price decreases. So no matter the real estate market conditions I am  here to help you.
