New Date: Concrete to be Poured For New Idylwyld Drive Overpass Now to Start Thursday, October 1
The freeway restrictions are necessary as crews pour concrete for the deck of the new Idylwyld Drive overpass as part of the Circle Drive South Project.
The reduced speed of 60 km/h in that zone will remain in effect, and may be reduced to 40 km/h in certain sections of the road restriction.
Motorists are reminded to allow extra time when travelling through this area, watch for pedestrians and work crews, and for everyone’s safety please follow all detours, signs, and barriers.
The City of Saskatoon thanks motorists for their patience, and for allowing extra time when travelling through this area.
The Circle Drive South Project is Saskatoon’s most massive infrastructure project, involving a new south bridge, five interchanges, three railway grade separations, and
10 kilometres of freeway. The project will be opened on September 30, 2012. The Project Hotline is always open for recent updates and traffic detours at 1-888-851-5303. You can also check out the shots on the live web cam at Diefenbaker Park, facing west across the river to focus on bridge work, as well two cameras showing the work on the railway overpass and roadway overpass at 11th Street (go to www.saskatoon.ca and click on C for Circle Drive South Project).
