The City of Saskatoon invites residents to a “come-and-go” open house on Tuesday, May 29, at J.S. Wood Library (1801 Lansdowne Avenue), to view and comment on the proposed detailed design for the new destination accessible playground and satellite skate park in W.W. Ashley Park.

Public Open House for W.W. Ashley Park
Tuesday, May 29, 2012
7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (come and go)
J.S. Wood Library, 1801 Lansdowne Avenue

W.W. Ashley Park is a District Park located on Taylor Street East between Lansdowne Avenue and Albert Avenue. The park is located adjacent to J.S. Wood Library and Lathey Pool.

This public open house will give people the opportunity to view the proposed park layout and conceptual drawings for this new destination accessible playground and the new satellite skate park. Civic staff will be available to explain the proposed plans, answer any questions, and receive your comments.

W.W. Ashley Park will be one of five destination accessible playgrounds in Saskatoon that have incorporated specific design elements that make them accessible to both children and caregivers with disabilities. This playground includes design elements, such as a pour in place rubberized surface, as well as ground level and elevated accessible play components. By providing destination accessible playgrounds, the City can better ensure that children, whether they have a disability or not, can play together close to home and with their friends.
