THE Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver posted October's sale as the highest it has ever been. 115% increase in volume compared to last October. Prices has risen by 17% as well. Despite the downturn in the USA and the world's economy, it appears Vancouver is still the best place to invest in Real Estate.

Today I was looking in past ecology postings on the net. It came to my attention that a bird was seen in distress at Como Lake. Summer was simply beautiful this year. Lots of flying and riding on my part and I hope you all had a wonderful Summer too. Mortgage rates, according to Brooksfield Real Estate funds, is at its lowest. It has plunged 50% since a year ago. Bank of Montreal is offering a five year rate of 4.15%. Bank of Canada Prime rate is now .5%. For people like me who has a variable mortgage of 1 percent above Prime, I am enjoying a 1.5% mortgage rate. More money gets channeled into the principal to pay towards my equity. ...

Many years ago, I had BC HYDRO came to my residence and assessed my home to retrofit it for energy efficiency. It was called the "powersmart" program. Some of you will remember. As we approach the shortest day of the year I find I need lights on earlier in the afternoon and later in the morning.
