Record sales for the month of July have been reported by both the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board. In Vancouver's case, it was an all time record beating even July 2006 which was phenomenal in itself. Sales are up and the number of incoming, new listings is down. Fraser Valley Real Estate Board info for the month of June to date shows the number of sales ahead of last year by 17% and ahead of last month by 24%. This, while listing numbers are down by 26% over June last year and by 13% over last month for the same time period.

Hockey history is made . . . the first ever AHL franchise on the West Coast has been granted to the City of Abbotsford. Exciting or what! Abbotsford will be the new home of the Calgary Flames number one farm team, bringing top notch, professional hockey to the Fraser Valley. Great news! The home renovation tax credit announced via the new budget is going to make it happen. We're finally going to complete out renovation! I do hope we can find contractors that will be able to schedule us into their work line-up.

I came across an interesting article in the Globe and Mail. It was titled Cheer up: Canada's in good shape.
