Silverton is located just 5km out of New Denver and 27km north of Slocan City. Originally called Four-Mile city however renaming itself after the famous mining town in the USA, Silverton Colorado. With a population of 185 people, Silverton is BC’s smallest municipality. Enjoy the parks and campground, shops, galleries, museums, and restaurants. Slocan Lake and Valhalla Provincial Park pursuits are favourite pastimes of the locals.
Memorial Hall, built in 1919, is a beautiful heritage building located on Lake Ave. There is a large display of antique mining equipment dating back to the late 1800’s at the Outdoor Mining Museum. Silverton is noted for being a leader in the study of arts so be sure to visit the Silverton Gallery. Pancake breakfast, bocce, Bavarian Garden, and games for the kids followed by fireworks is how this municipality celebrates in being a proud Canadian on Canada Day, and would love for you to be a part of it too.
