Cowansville is located at the center of the touristic region of Brome Missisquoi. Its 12,470 residents make it the largest city in the region. Cowansville is in the heart of a region with an advantageous geographical location for economic development. Located halfway between Montreal and Sherbrooke, the City of Cowansville is less than an hour from downtown Montreal, the Port of Montreal and the Pierre Elliott Trudeau airport. Over 65% of the population is bilingual.
For sports, there are six golf courses and five ski resorts with in half an hour from the city. You can also go canoeing or kayaking.
On the cultural front, Cowansville offers many interesting activities.The Theatre des tournesols and Theatre Scene Davigon are two places where artists perform. Several festivals are held annually, the most famous being the Festival Musique en Vue that has the musicians on a stage outside for 5 days.There is also the festival of comic books and Country Festival.
