I'm writing to express my gratitude for our recent home buying experience. As you must know, my partner and I recently bought a lovely home in Englishtown. The beauty of the home, the small town, and Cape Breton itself is heightened by the awareness that we will be living on the site of my great-grandmother's family homestead.
We realized we loved Nova Scotia when we attended last summer's highland games in Antigonish. After researching Nova Scotia, we decided upon Cape Breton and contacted your office. Luckily for us, Bob Doucette answered the phone that day. From that first conversation, we knew we were in good hands. Bob really is an ambassador for Cape Breton and Nova Scotia. As a former broker myself, I understand the critical importance of people skills and communication in real estate. Buying and selling property is emotionally charged in many respects, and the prospect of moving to a new country is certainly fraught with emotional considerations.
I'm not sure if we would be homeowners in Cape Breton if someone else had answered the phone that day. It would have been easy to get discouraged or dismiss the prospect as a whim. Bob immediately sprang into action and emailed us prospective properties. Our email communication progressed steadily and consistently for several months, culminating with our finding. Bob facilitated the offer and negotiations expertly, and I am sure his communication skills are the reason for our success. With him as our agent, we selected and successfully purchased our home in less than six months. His outgoing personality, his impeccable standards of communication and response, and his genuine concern for our venture are most certainly the reason for this positive experience. Bob is always accessible and always positive and professional. He is warm and caring and solves problems promptly and smoothly. In terms of the actual purchase, Bob navigated and solved many problems in order to bring it to completion. During the process, he consistently emailed us absolutely beautiful photographs of our home and its scenic views. These pictures helped us to stay connected to our dream of living in Englishtown. He even arranged help when we moved our belongings to our new home last month.
John and I were initially drawn to Nova Scotia because of the warmth of its citizens and the beauty of the island. Bob confirmed those first impressions. He truly loves Cape Breton and believes in its merits and sees it potential. His enthusiasm is contagious. We look forward to this summer in our new home and are excited to move to Canada in the future. He did an exceptional job making this transaction a positive experience for us, and we now consider him a friend. We are very grateful to Century 21 and to Bob Doucette, in particular.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Wendy Matheson and John Wands
