It is very important to make sure that your agent and real estate company knows how to advertise your house for sale on the internet. I'm not going to tell you how big the internet is these days. Its not the the 90's. Even though your agent may have a web site or and email address that is not enough. Most sales these days are done through non traditional means. Facebook, Twitter, My Space and also blogging about your new listing. Also creating a domain name for your house is important. A domain name or internet address for your house is a new way to sell. Your agent secures the address of your house and creates a domain name then on your sign when your selling your house they put a little rider sign below with your internet address on it. The benefit of that is if a person is driving by the house and would like to immediately see pictures or a virtual tour they can. They can do this with most smart phones or they can log in when they get back home. This is also important for them to contact the agent if they would like to see the house or if they have any questions. It is also important if the company your agent is working for has a web presence. Most top companies do but some don't. This is important to get the word out to get your house sold as soon as possible. It is also important with advertising open houses and price changes. Yes every company is on mls but that is not enough. What if the customer is not looking to move and stumbles across your house because they were typing up something in a search engine and came across it because the agent blogs regularly. The buyer might like the house and be motivated to move and there you go your house is on its way to being sold. Of course traditional agents are needed but in todays day and age the internet and these new mediums through the internet are here to stay and your agent must be a part of it.
