For anyone living in the Hurontario and Queensway area in Mississauga, the Apple Market has been a community staple for 38 years. This March the store celebrates its birthday with customer appreciation day. Three $100 gift certificates will be raffled off and coffee, pastries and apple cider will be served. I have known many people who have worked at the store including my sister and mother. I used to go there not only to shop but to pick them up after work. They have survived the superstores and the big box stores which has moved into the community. They have survived through expanding their store to include speciality areas and through fresh local food.
In this cookie cutter society of strip malls and plazas its so unique to our community that The Apple Market is still here and thriving.I would like to wish them a happy birthday and I'm sure they will be around forever.
