A Wonderful Initiative for Students

Century 21 Excel recently had the pleasure of participating in “Projet Classes Affaires,” an initiative which permits secondary school students to obtain 35 hours of training in the work force, in the sector of their choice.  July 24th was the day we welcomed Jane Tam for the first time.  From St-Luc High School, Jane is a charming and intelligent girl, enthusiastic and punctual, the sort of person you would call the ideal trainee.

We passed a very enjoyable week together and Jane learned multiple aspects of the real estate business from an administrative point of view: the processing of documents for listings and sales of properties; customer service; the raising of funds for our charity, Tel-Jeunes; internet research for the writing of our company blogs; the thousand and one daily tasks of the secretarial pool – telephone, correspondence, invoicing.

Even though the goal of Projet Classes Affaires is to enrich students’ academic achievements with hands-on training in the work force, I must say that the entire experience has been enriching and rewarding to me personally.

Since 2001, over 6,400 students have had the chance to be welcomed into over 600 training areas.  Century 21 Excel is proud to be part of the hundreds of professional mentors who have become involved in the lives of students and who have had a direct impact on their social development and career orientation.

If you would like your office to participate in this wonderful initiative, which motivates students to discover the workforce, you are invited to communicate with Mrs. Maude Lajeunesse, Recruitment Assistant, at mlajeunesse@projetclassesaffaires.ca
