The Greater Montreal Real Estate Board (GMREB) has just published its most recent residential real estate market statistics, and says that this past month has been the most active month of July for the past eight years.
All geographical sectors of the CMA registered an increase in the number of sales in July, with the island of Montreal showing a 21% increase compared with July of last year.
Prices have also increased across all property types compared with July of last year, with single family dwellings up by 8%, for a median property price of $323,000. Condominium prices are up by 2%, reaching a median price of $256,000.
The number of listings on the Centris® system continues to decrease, as they are down by 15% compared to July of last year.
