KIN RACE TRACK HORSE RACING AUG 18 2013

THIS COMING SUNDAY WILL SEE CENTURIES OLD EVENT HAPPENING AT THE KIN RACE TRACK AT THE BOTTOM OF 43RD AVENUE. The gates open at noon and the parade to post starts at 1:15 PM. Not every community can boast a race track but we have one and have had since the late 1800's. At its inception it mainly consisted of the local farmers gathering to race in one of the communal fields. Then in 1893 the Vernon Jockey Club was incorporated for the purposes of holding professional horse races. Ever since organized racing has been held on the same site.
