The absorption in the North topped 20% in May. The last time we saw absorption that high in the North was August of 2007. The sales in the North zone broke records in May as well with 134 houses sold in the month. That is higher than it has been since May of 2007. The Central zone absorption rate stayed strong at above 20% as well. There were 293 home sales in the Central zone in May. That is the highest since May of 2007. The Shuswap although not showing the growth of the North and Central divisions has had absorption above 10% for the last 2 months. The sales in May in the Shuswap were higher than they have been since July of 2009. I am hearing lots of stories of Realtors telling their buyers not to wait to see or make an offer on a house and the buyers wait and lose the deal. This is a good market folks. Pre-frame your buyers aggressively so they do not lose their dream home.
