Buying a Home

Buying a new home does not have to be a chore. Wise shoppers enlist the services of a real estate professional. A good agent should sit down with you to determine your wants and needs. They should be prepared to explain the entire process from beginning to end so you will know and anticipate each step.

It is important that you feel comfortable with your representative. The two of you need to be able to understand each others duties and ensure that the lines of communication remain open at all times. Duties? I am going to have duties? Well, yes. You will need to communicate your thoughts and feelings clearly. Maybe you thought at the beginning that you wanted a bungalow but now that you have been shown a couple of houses, you have decided that a two storey would suit you better. Let the agent know as soon as possible so they won't spend valuable time looking for the wrong house for you. Be patient, your "perfect house" may not be available today. Listen to your agent, you hired them because of their knowledge of the real estate market, let them do their job. Your agents duties are to find you the best house for you, negotiate the purchase price and conditions, look after your best interests and explain the entire process ahead of time so there will be no surprises.

Once you have chosen your agent, sit back and let them do the work for you.

Yours in real estate,
