According to a Canada census done in May of 2011, Waterloo Region surpasses London Ontario to become Canada's 10thlargest urban centre. According to the census, Statistics Canada counted 477,160 urban residents in Waterloo Region, excluding Wellesley & Willmot Townships, which is 2, 374 more than counted in London Ontario.
