10 Top Tips for Homebuyers & Sellers for 2014 -TIP #3

Make sure you hire the right agent!  Buying or Selling a home is a life changing experience and the last thing you need is to have an agent you're not happy with.  Tips to consider when looking for the right agent for you:

(1) Interview at least Three Agents

Write down any questions you have for the agent, as you may forget them when you're in the meeting.  Know what the agent has to offer you and how he/she will go about fulfilling your expectations.  If the agent is more concerned with getting the listing then meeting your needs..well, you're informed now, so you can decide if this is a good fit.

(2) Choose an Agent Who Knows Your Needs

Before you sell your home and leave it for good, you need to make sure the home you're moving into is the right fit for you.  Your agent should be listening and absorbing what you're saying as to what kind of home you want.  Your agent should be taking you to the homes that fit your criteria and that are not over budget and no where near what you wanted.

(3) Work With Someone You Can Trust

An agent does not work for free.  This is their means of providing for their life;  their bread and butter.  Do you want an agent who cares only for a commission or someone who also cares for finding you the right home?  They need to show you that they care in helping you, so you can make the right decision. If they are pushing a sale and you  know it isn't right for you, you should reconsider your decision in who you are working with.

Once you have gathered your findings and hired your agent, trust your agent.

I would like to encourage you to leave me a comment on YOUR experience with a past real estate transaction.  Good, Bad  or inbetween.  No names....just experiences.
