I just came back from my fantastic holiday in Mexico and I am feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. When I go to Mexico I visit a little fishing town called Puerto Morales (about 20 minutes outside Cancun). It's a fabulous spot that has everything you need without the Hotel/Resort vibe. If you are looking to go off the beaten path and soak up some of the friendly Mexican culture, I highly recommend this quaint little town. There are plenty of condos and houses for rent right on the beach. A beach that has a lot to offer such as; Massages right on the beach under a little hut complete with palm trees swaying in the ocean breezes. Have a drink at the beach bar Unico it offers comfy lounge chairs and a full menu if you want something to eat. You can snorkel right there at the 2nd largest reef in the world. I did it and Wet Set will treat you right and show you a lot for about 350 pesos! that's at $29 bucks it's so worth it. In the town square you can catch a bus to any one of the excursions you may be interested in - Sanotes, Jeep tours or maybe a spa day in the Jungle is more your speed, it's all available for you to enjoy. Drift along the little town strip and enjoy all the shops for trinkets and souveniers you can think of. Of course the fabulous "Hot" spots for delicious authentic food and music are a must. I really enjoyed the Spicy tacos they are fantastico! (and cheap!) Habaneros is a happening spot and the owner will remember your name. Make a day trip out to Cancun or Playa Del Carmen which are 30 minutes away, make sure to visit Delmar for beautiful Pearl Jewelry or Belize for some beautiful white cotton billowy clothes, perfect for after dinner drinks on the patio!
Mexico what's not to love!
