Getting cable in ―Old South‖
Craig writes: "Looking out on a summer morning I noticed a middle aged man with a bicycle standing by a hydro pole, anxiously looking up and down the street. When the traffic was quiet and after more anxious looks at passers-by, he took out a pair of wire cutters and cut a large section of heavy gauge copper ground wire from the base of the hydro pole. I called London Hydro and was informed that this type of thing happens all the time. The copper wire is sold as scrap and is costing public utilities an immense amount of money.
As neighbours we should be vigilant of any suspicious activity not only on private property buy public property as well."
