The World Figure Skating Championships is Coming to London! Are You ready?

ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2013

When we heard that London was hosting the ISU World Figure Skating Championships this year at Budweiser Gardens, we were very excited! It is an annual event that moves around the globe and attracts more than 150 million television viewers from all over the world! The last time the event was hosted in Canada was in 2006 in Calgary. Now it is back for 2013 where it will showcase the talents of 200 of the best athletes from 50 countries. There will be four different categories: Men's, Ladies, Pair and Ice Dance.

Canada's favourite pair of figure skaters will be performing this year. In the Ice Dance category, Olympic and World Champions Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue will compete to add another world title to their list of accomplishments. Scott and Tessa are both from the London Area. We are sure that there will be many out at Budweiser Gardens to support them and to cheer them on! And if you can't make it out to the competition, then you can always watch it on the television at home to keep up to date and to show your support to the different athletes this year.

This competition will not only name the world champions in all the categories, it will also identify the number of entries qualifying countries may send to the Sochi Winter Olympic Games in Russia that is less than a year away.

The ISU World Figure Skating Championships are from March 11- 17th. Are you ready?
