Drumheller is located on the Red Deer River in the valley that's often referred to as Dinosaur Valley because of all the fossils found there. Drumheller was founded originally in 1911 and it has had its share of booms and busts over the years. This is a fiberglass T-Rex, which you can go into and climb to the top of to get a great view of the nearby Badlands.

Some of the other attractions in the area include the Atlas Coal Mine and the Star Mine Suspension Bridge. Water Spray Park is another popular spot for families. Valley Doll Museum, the East Coulee School Museum, and the Homestead Museum are worth a visit too. Those who are interested in dinosaurs will want to spend some time exploring the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, which has the largest collection of dinosaur fossils in the country.

The rural location also means you will find plenty of parks and places to enjoy the great outdoors like Horsethief Canyon, Horseshoe Canyon, Midland Provincial Park and the Rosedale Suspension Bridge.
