There have been a lot of changes in this real estate industry since I began working, at Century 21 Trident Realty Ltd., way back in June of 1984, and most the significant is the internet. One thing that has not changed, however, is that both buyers and sellers alike want and expect good service. Personal Interests

Physical fitnes has always ranked high in my personal interests. I became a member of Cole Harbour Place when the community centre opened and faithfully attended the weight training and fitness centre. 

I also am somewhat of a musician: I play guitar,a little harmonica, and the "Strum Stick". Along with a few good friends, we write music and have recorded a C.D., but mostly we have performed for friends and family around the old camp fire. I also really enjoy outback hiking and canoe/kayak excursions with good friends and fellow adventurers.

A Member of Saint John XXIII Parish now, we sometimes play at Mass, but over the years, my good friend Rick MacGillivray and myself played every Sunday morning at the 8:45 Mass at St. Vincent's Parish in Forest Hills.

For Years I was a Cub and then Scout leader in the community and enjoyed every minute. Since then I have watched many of the young people in my pack grow up to be fine adults. Its is always a pleasure t hear some young man call out "Hey Akela". Funny how they have all grown up.

Personal Background

Gary was born and raised in Montreal ,Quebec where he still has family. In September 1968 he joined the Royal Montreal Regiment, an infantry unit, and was discharged as a Corporal. Later, in 1975 while employed by the Canadian National Railway, Gary, along with wife Linda and their little daughter, Cheryl, was transferred to Calgary where he worked and lived until the Spring of 1978 when he was transferred to Halifax. When the family arrived here, they were four in number having added another daughter, Shannon, to the family. Once here, they decided that this was the place to raise their children. and set down roots. They completed the family with two sons, David and Michael. They have since been blessed with six grandchildren.

 

 

The whole family ( including grandchildren) is into camping and canoeing/kayaking and have spent many  wonderful days exploring our National and Provincial Parks, Keji being a family favourite! Gary is also into outback hiking. His love of music, guitar more specifically, brought him to establish the 8:45 AM Choir at Saint Vincent's Parish where he and his good friend Rick MacGillivray played for many years.

Together they have written many songs and recorded a C.D. compiled of all original music. 

Professional Background

In 2006 I became an "Associate Broker" having completed my Broker's License exam. Along with the added title comes additional responsibility.  I believe, however, that this puts me in a better position to serve my clients as well.

I do a lot of work in New Construction and have specialized in preparing all of the necessary paper work along with the calculations for the H.S.T., the Federal Rebate and Provincial First Time Home Buyer Rebates. I handle the buyers follow up such as choice selections and stay on top of all of the important details until the successful closing. I have associated myself with one of Metro's Top Builders: Green Leaf Construction Ltd. who have been building fine, energy efficient homes in this area since the early 1990's.
