Gary was born and raised in the Niagara Peninsula and he and his family live in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

All of Gary's education was through Niagara schools, including post secondary education at Brock University. Gary has been a REALTOR since 1991 and specializes in the Niagara-on-the-Lake, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls markets.

He is active in organized Real Estate and in his community. Having served as a President of the Niagara Association of REALTORS in 2003, a Director at the Ontario Real Estate Association(2003-2009), and is currently a Director for the Canadian Real Estate Association and Chair of the MLS Technology Council (MTC). In the community Gary is a Municipal Councillor for the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake and volunteers with minor sports, a local art museum, Music Niagara and the hospice organization Red Roof Retreat.

Professional Background

Licensed in 1991, Gary began his real estate career with CENTURY21 as a sales associate. In 1997 he acquired his Brokers licence and expanded his responsibilities with managing the brokerage.

In 2003 he was elected President of the Niagara Association of REALTORS having served as a member of the Board of Directors since 1998. Gary has continued to work with on various Boards of directors, including the Ontario Real Estate Association from 2003-2008 and the Canadian Real Estate Association from 2008-present.

Currently my recommended restaurant in town is Grill on King. It is located near the Prince of Wales Hotel at the corner of Queen and King streets in one of the Old Town Firehalls. You will love this Town. Where else can you walk with the kids to school, taking a route through a National Historic site, surrounded by acres of parkland and enjoy a moderate climate, converse with friends and neighbours along the route? There is also miles of trails and great views along the river and lakefront.

If you have an interest in local history then our Bicentennial events are sure to please. www.discover1812.com With re-enactments planned, Town occupation by American forces and many other activities the Bicentennial will be a great celebration of everything Niagara.

To refresh on your 1812 history I would recommend Pierre Burton's "Flames Across the Border", and "The War of 1812". As for a local writer, the late Robert Malcomson's "A Brilliant Affair", and "Lord of the Lakes" are enjoyable. All excellent accounts of that period. A time when Britain's colonies in Canada were being threatening by a young United States of America. Niagara on the Lake has endured invasion and rose to be rebuilt by a very determined local people.
