Rememberance Day 2009
Congratulations to the Principal and staff at Virgil Public School, here in Nagara on the Lake for conducting a very special Rememberance Day Ceremony. The students truly received a great experience and participated through their choirs, student authored poetry and a dramatic presentation on stage.
This very well organized ceremony had many special guests, including local War Veterans, officials from the Town's Fire Department and Lt. Hill from Canadian Armed Forces who gave an excellent talk to those in attendance. Lt. Hill focused on the responsibility of us all to protect our democracy and select the locations we require our armed forces to conduct their operations. He reminded us that this is not a simple task and that we must meet this responsibility directly.
It was a pleasure to attend this event and witness how the students connect and show respect towards Rememberance Day.
