Living near Edmonton and Calgary offers allot of great benifits for our social calendars. Slide the city going to both this summer. I've inserted the article and link below
On hot summer days, being a kid and staying cool was simple: turn on a garden hose and slip down a water slide in your yard.
Now imagine instead of being in the backyard, the water slide stretches the length of an entire city street.
It’s happening: Slide the City has been touring all across the U.S. with its 1,000-foot slick vinyl slide and this summer it’s making its way to Canada.
The slide is roughly the length of three football fields and it’s the ultimate way to partake in childhood nostalgia.
Slide the City is all set to take over Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton, Halifax, Calgary, Winnipeg, Regina, and a few more Canadian cities.
In Toronto, the Slip ‘n Slide is coming to the downtown core on July 18-19. The slide will stretch out on Carl Hall Road in Downsview Park, where there’ll also be live music, food and drinks available.
Montreal was awaiting final confirmation about the Slip ‘N Slide event but it recently released all the details, including location and ticket information. Tickets are now available for the one day event on Aug. 15.
The most expensive ticket is $44 and it gives you unlimited slides anytime during the day. It also comes with a tube, which is necessary in order to cruise down the slide.
Though many cities appear to have enjoyed the ginormous slide, there are accounts of other cities being dissapointed and upset by the event. This video from CBS Pittsburgh reports on how the event fared in their city just last month.
Check out their Facebook page for more information. And make sure to embrace your inner child if you decide this giant water slide is for you!
