Buy a home in the Winter?

Buying on the coldest days of the year can be very beneficial - there are a lot of problems that can be hidden by snow but a lot of problems a house cant hide in cold weather - lots of icicles can mean poor insulation or attic ventilation issues, frosted doors or windows can mean air leakage or moisture issues,  how often is the furnace coming on, are the doors and windows opening and closing - I also think there are great bargains on the winter market - get a good solid home and there is less buyer pressure - fewer competitive bidding wars - (although i had competing offers on a house tonight)  bottom line - good homes are good homes no matter when they are for sale.
