As we travelled from Grande Prairie to Grande Cache we reached the undulating foot hills of the Rockies we know and love.
We were not alone...the oil and gas industry is in full tilt with hundreds of little oil or gas gathering stations, and the trucks and equipment busy and plentiful.
Then we entered Jasper National Park...our own familiar Canadian Rockies...breathtaking views whichever way we turned.
Our picnic spot!
This is the back side of Banff's Rundle Mountain, affectionately named "Cookie Mountain" by Sandy and Jenny when they were kiddies on mountain outings.
I just have to say, we have travelled thousands of kilometers to see the sights far beyond, but as we arrived in our National showpiece, I was reminded of Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz who said "There is no place like home! to find her way back to Kansas and discovered that home is no further than your own back yard.
Our Canadian Rockies have given us as much drama & pleasure of any of the vistas we have seen in the past two months. It is truly world class!
