If you look closely, you will see the reflection of the sun on this water. We have had two glorious rain free days on the far western coast of Alaska...the historical Sitka, first settled by Russians who sold Alaska to the USA ...can't remember the details, but it wasn't for much and the folks in America complained. Duhhhh!
We left the fifth wheel in Juneau and took the fast ferry to Sitka. That's me on the deck of our apartment overlooking the rocky beach and freshwater stream which to our delight, has salmon (Chum aka humpies) running at high tide up the beach to the little waterfall beside us. How amazing is that?
Saint Michael's Cathedral, built in 1844-48, destroyed by fire, January 1966, and rebuilt with many of the original Russian Orthodox art and church treasures salvaged.
So, we found a fish processing place the first day....they had nothing fresh, but if I came back the next day around 2, they should probably have some King Salmon. Yea!
How fresh is that!
Time to BBQ the King Salmon now...eat your hearts out!
