Get Out and Vote Today!
Today, Tuesday May 14th is General Voting Day all over British Columbia. Make yourself heard and your opinion count by getting out to your local voting station and casting your ballot. The ballot stations are open from 8 AM until 8 PM. If you did not receive your Yellow "Where to Vote" card in the mail, you can check here to find your Electoral District.
All voters must be able to prove their identity and their address in order to get a voting ballot. There are numerous ways to do so at your polling station. Here are some of the options as listed by
A single document issued by the Government of B.C. or Canada that contains the voter’s name, photograph and residential address, such as a B.C. driver’s licence, B.C. Identification Card (BCID), or B.C. Services Card
A Certificate of Indian Status as issued by the Government of Canada
Two documents that together show the voter’s name and residential address. Both documents must show the voter’s name. At least one of the documents must also contain the voter’s residential address.
Please note: Digital or electronic documents (e.g. e-bills) are acceptable. Hand-written information on a document, photocopies or electronic scans/photos of a paper document are not acceptable.
- Provincial Where to Vote card
- Bank/credit card or statement
- Residential lease/mortgage statement
- Insurance statement
- Public transportation pass
- Utility bill
- Membership card
- Hospital bracelet/document
- Prescription medication container
- Attestation of residence
- Personal cheque (printed by bank)
