Nanaimo, also known as the ‘Harbour City’ is a beautiful community located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. With a growing population of 131,000, Nanaimo is approximately 100 Km from Victoria, British Columbia and a 55km ferry ride away from Vancouver. It is centrally located and acts as a hub for many surrounding areas on Vancouver Island.
From the beautiful harbour front walk way, to the revitalized downtown core, Nanaimo offers a great mix of work and play to the public. It is a great place for conventions and meetings, with a large convention center located downtown. It also is home to the annual world renowned Bathtub Races. It is a great place for a family to live, or retirees to settle down and enjoy their golden years.
Its temperatures offer mild, rainy winters and cool, dry summers. Perfect for outdoor activities.
Nanaimo has a plethora of public elementary and secondary schools, which are operated by School District 68 Nanaimo-Ladysmith. It has one private school, Aspengrove School, which is accredited as an International Baccalaureate World School. Nanaimo is also home to Vancouver Island University, a great school that offers many programs and trades that bring many local and international students to its campuses.
