Our first sampling of life in the US was on a small island called "Hilton Head" located in what is frequently refered to as the" Low Country" by the locals. It received this name since it is mere inches above sea level and when the tide goes out the ocean bed is clearly exposed. The tide will fall by as much as 13 feet at its lowest and navigating the intra-coastal should be preformed by those who know the waters.
Our first home was just inside the gates of Sea Pines Plantation. This is the largest plantation on the island and is home to Harbor Town and the Heritage PGA Golf Classic. The plantation represents approximately one third of the island and offers some thing for everyone that takes to time to vacation in this ideal southern location.
Our next stop was Branson Mo. and what a difference a few thousand miles makes when it comes to the character and lifestyles of the locals. Branson "Entertainment Capital of the Mid West" boasting more theater seating then New York city! It can be said " if you can't find something to do in Branson you're likely dead".
More to come in the weeks ahead...
