For more information on Shout Sister Choir here is a brief synopsis of their organization.
Shout Sister! takes an unorthodox approach to choral singing. The focus is on relaxing and having fun while singing a wide range of popular music. Auditions are not required and there is no requirement to read music. We learn from recorded tracks so we are able to welcome all singers.
This choir fills a need for inexperienced singers. Being allowed to sing with a choir for the first time is very powerful and joyful. Experienced singers find the relaxed atmosphere
and repertoire of popular music a welcome change.
The first choir was started by Georgette Fry in Kingston in 2002. She opened a chapter in Brockville and Picton in 2006 and the Shout Sister! dream began to take shape. We currently have 15 Chapters in Ontario under the direction of 8 Directors.
You are welcome to attend a practice with no obligation and new members are welcome at any time.
