In my opinion, this is the very best time of year to live in the Haliburton Highlands!
The colours on the leaves are beautiful and dynamic!
Everywhere you look is a new and beautiful site.
This past weekend (Sept 29-30th) was both Colourfest (held in the village of Haliburton) and the first weekend of the Haliburton County Studio Tours.
Colourfest is an annual event held in the village of Haliburton for tons of family fun. This year boasted 2 live stages, lots of activities for kids and pets, vintage cars as well as games and food. This is an event which just keeps getting bigger and better. If you missed it this year watch for it for next year! More details available at http://www.colourfest.ca/index.htm
2012 happens to be the 25th year for the Studio Tours where local artisans open up their private studios to the public for 2 weekends. This well signed, interesting and fun event has become a family tradition for many and is well worth the drive to see what your favourite artist has been up to. Don't worry - Thanksgiving Weekend is the 2nd weekend of the tour so you haven't missed it! Come on up and check out the local artists. More information can be found at http://haliburtonstudiotour.on.ca/
Do you need more reasons to come to the Highlands this weekend????
