Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival
February 15-16 2013

The Dorset Snowball was originated by the volunteer Committee for the Dorset Recreation Centre back in 1991 as a community event and fundraiser for the Rec Centre. Snowball takes place on the 3rd weekend of February every year and has grown from an event that used to be only attended by people from Dorset to an event that is now attended by people from all over Ontario. A special thank you to all the volunteers is a must. Thank you to everyone who helps to make Snowball such a wonderful event. If you are interested in helping out at Snowball, give us a call or email and we'll guarantee that you have a GREAT time! The main focus of Snowball is to provide affordable family oriented entertainment, to make Dorset a "destination" and to bring the community together for a day filled with activity and fun.

Winter Wetland Walk
February 16 2013

  Cultural Centre Logo

In winter a marsh may look empty and windblown and seem to be a silent, frozen wilderness devoid of life and sound. But is it really? In fact, most earthbound creatures, even though we can't see or hear them, remain all winter long and the wetland is actually quite active. Join us in exploring the Wetland around the Cultural Centre and learn how to see the active winter wilderness in our own community. We will gather in the Common Room and hot chocolate will be served afterwards. Please dress for the weather (including boots) and feel free to bring your cameras. This is a free event and families are always welcome.
